Pacific International Lines (PIL) will launch its Imara Express (IMX) service between India and East Africa. The weekly service will expand PIL’s existing Asia–Africa network. It will also give customers greater access to key markets across the region. The first IMX sailing will depart from Nhava Sheva on 23 September 2026. Imara Express port rotation The service will follow this rotation: Nhava Sheva – Mundra – Dar es Salaam – Mombasa – Nhava Sheva IMX will connect major production hubs and consumer markets across India and East Africa. Moreover, PIL will offer direct weekly sailings, competitive transit times and reliable schedules. The service aims to support growing trade between the two regions. Expanding PIL’s Asia–Africa network The name “Imara” comes from a Swahili word meaning strong, dependable and resilient. According to PIL, the name reflects its commitment to providing reliable and efficient shipping solutions. “PIL has been serving the Asia–Africa trade for decades, building deep market expertise, strong partnerships and a trusted network across the continent,” said William Ho, General Manager, Long-Haul Services, PIL. “The launch of Imara Express extends our existing Asia–Africa network and supports the growing trade flows between India and East Africa.
