CMA CGM has announced changes to its Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on shipments from North Europe to the Red Sea and from Asia to South Africa and Mauritius. The French carrier will apply a downward adjustment to its PSS from North Europe to the Red Sea from 1 September 2026. At the same time, CMA CGM will introduce a PSS of US$100 per TEU from Asia to South Africa and Mauritius from 20 August. North Europe to Red Sea PSS set at US$500 From 1 September 2026, based on the loading date, CMA CGM will apply a PSS of US$500 per container on shipments from North Europe to the Red Sea. The surcharge applies to all cargo except out-of-gauge (OOG) shipments. The adjustment represents a reduction in the applicable Peak Season Surcharge on this trade. Asia to South Africa and Mauritius PSS Separately, CMA CGM will introduce a Peak Season Surcharge on cargo moving from Asia to South Africa and Mauritius. The surcharge will take effect from 20 August 2026 and remain in place until further notice. CMA CGM will apply a charge of US$100 per TEU to all cargo covered by the measure. The carrier noted that the surcharges are applied in addition to the relevant basic freight rates. Bunker-related charges, terminal handling charges and safety and security surcharges may also apply.
