File Image / Pixabay A Russian frigate has reportedly fired warning shots at a yacht in the English Channel , following a Russian shadow fleet tanker being detained in the area over the weekend. The Russian frigate  Admiral Grigorovich  fired warning shots after sailing close to a yacht in the Channel at about 11:40 AM on Tuesday , newspaper The Telegraph reported. The incident took place about 20 nautical miles south of the Isle of Wight , outside of UK territorial waters. No injuries or damage were reported. On Sunday British armed forces boarded the the 106,900 DWT tanker Smyrtos in the Channel on suspicion the vessel was falsely flagged. The tanker was reported to have been taking a Russian oil cargo to India .
