Maersk will introduce a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on shipments from Turkey to Somalia, effective 28 July 2026 until further notice. Under the new tariff, the surcharge will be set at US$200 per 20ft dry container, US$300 per 40ft dry container and US$300 per 45ft dry container. Maersk said the PSS will apply to non-SPOT bookings based on the Price Calculation Date (PCD). The surcharge will not apply to SPOT bookings. The carrier added that the new PSS will be charged in addition to any applicable local and contingency surcharges on the Turkey-Somalia trade.
