MSC Mediterranean Shipping Company will introduce a Peak Season Surcharge (PSS) on cargo moving from North Europe, including the UK and ScanBaltic, to the United States, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas. The surcharge will take effect on 15 August 2026 based on the gate-in date. It will remain in force until further notice. MSC will charge US$600 for 20-foot dry containers. The carrier will charge US$1,000 for 40-foot dry and high-cube containers. The surcharge for reefer and special equipment will be US$1,200. MSC said all other freight components published in its latest Europe price announcements for the affected trades will remain unchanged.
