Norwegian dry bulk shipowner Spar Shipping has bolstered its fleet with a newly built ultramax. Multiple shipbroking outfits have identified the Bergen-based firm behind a resale deal worth slightly north of $38m for the 2024 Nantong Xiangyu-built Century Zhengzhou. The 63,600 dwt sister unit of Spar’s recently delivered Spar Mira (pictured) was ordered in August 2021 by China’s Ebridge Capital for an undisclosed price and delivered in June this year. Spar Shipping lists 26 bulkers on its website, comprising nine ultramaxes and 17 supramax vessels. The company was also widely reported as offloading its 2005-built supramax Spar Lyra to Chinese buyers for $10.3m in July. googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('div-gpt-ad-1_95_0_1_2'); }); TagsNorway
