Image Credit: Future Proof Shipping Future Proof Shipping , a Rotterdam -based company pioneering hydrogen-fuelled inland container shipping, has filed for bankruptcy in the Netherlands . The firm entered bankruptcy proceedings on June 2 , before its case was sent on to the Central Netherlands Court on June 3 , according to data from the Dutch Central Insolvency Register . The company has a fleet of three inland container ships, all running on zero emissions using hydrogen. It first announced plans to convert its container barge Maas -- since renamed H2 Barge 1 -- to run on hydrogen in May 2021 .The company went on to sign a long-term hydrogen supply agreement with Air Liquide in December of that year.
