The Ecoport II group held its half-yearly meeting, bringing together member companies and organisations to share key developments and initiatives promoted by the Port Authority of Valencia in the areas of energy transition and environmental sustainability. The forum currently comprises 38 member companies and has established itself as the leading platform for environmental collaboration within the Valenciaport port community, spanning the ports of Valencia, Sagunto and Gandia. Discussions at the meeting covered ongoing initiatives and upcoming challenges across decarbonisation, energy efficiency and the adoption of new fuels. A highlight of the event was the presentation of the Seafairer project, which focuses on the production of sustainable biofuels from rice husks, representing an innovative approach to advanced biofuel development using agricultural residues. The meeting also served to introduce new initiatives planned for the second half of 2026, aimed at strengthening business participation and advancing the collaborative work of the Ecoport II network.
