Ocean Network Express (ONE) will move its Zealand container operations to the Port of Kalundborg in October 2026. The move is expected to significantly increase container volumes and activity at the Danish port. ONE will become the second global container shipping line to use Kalundborg as its base in Zealand. As a result, the terminal will strengthen its role as a logistics hub for imports and exports. The agreement involves ONE, the Port of Kalundborg and APM Terminals. The first ONE call is scheduled for 4 October. The Penang Bridge will make the inaugural call. The service will connect Kalundborg with Rotterdam and Antwerp, two of Europe’s major container hubs. Weekly ONE calls to Kalundborg ONE’s feeder vessels will call at Kalundborg every week. The new service is expected to increase the number of container calls at the terminal. It will also support growth in overall container throughput. “With ONE on board, we are taking an important step toward our ambition of making Kalundborg Zealand’s largest container terminal,” said Bent Rasmussen, Port Director. “At the same time, we are strengthening local businesses’ access to international supply chains with a direct connection to Rotterdam,” he added. ONE upgrades SCX service For ONE, the move forms part of an upgrade to its SCX service. The carrier expects the change to strengthen its logistics network in Denmark. It also aims to improve operational flexibility for customers. “The transition to Kalundborg Port is a strategic upgrade of our SCX service aimed at building a stronger and more resilient logistics network in the Danish market,” said Dan Miura, Marketing and Commercial Director for ONE’s EUA Region. “We are confident that with this move, we will be able to provide our customers with significantly improved service and operational flexibility,” he added.
