Pilbara Ports delivered total monthly throughput of 69.4 million tonnes in May 2026, a 1% decrease compared to May 2025, with performance across its principal facilities broadly softer year-on-year. The Port of Port Hedland achieved monthly throughput of 51.6 million tonnes, of which 51 million tonnes comprised iron ore exports, representing a 3% decrease compared to May 2025. Imports through Port Hedland totalled 195,000 tonnes, a 35% increase year-on-year. The Port of Dampier delivered total throughput of 13.6 million tonnes, a 3% decrease from May 2025. Imports through Dampier totalled 124,000 tonnes, unchanged compared to the same period last year. Pilbara Ports noted that throughput fluctuations across its network reflect a combination of market conditions, weather, port maintenance operations and customer requirements.
