Image Credit: Kawasaki Kawasaki Heavy Industries has delivered the 86,700 m3 LPG/ammonia carrier Lyla Pathfinder to Camel Maritima SA . The vessel is the 13th in Kawasaki’s latest series of LPG-fuelled LPG/ammonia carriers and can transport both LPG and ammonia, Kawasaki said in a statement on its website on Thursday . It has a larger cargo capacity than the company’s earlier 84,000 m3 LPG carriers, while retaining similar hull dimensions to allow access to major LPG terminals. Ship & Bunker had reported the naming of the vessel last month . It will be chartered to UAE -based LPG trader BGN INT FZCO and managed by NYK . The vessel is also fitted with a shaft generator, allowing its diesel generators to be shut down during normal voyages. This means it can operate almost entirely on LPG, apart from a small amount of pilot fuel. Lyla Pathfinder is Kawasaki’s 20th vessel capable of running on LPG.
