Maersk has introduced restrictions on in-transit cargo destined for Zanzibar following persistent delays at the port. The carrier previously suspended bookings into Zanzibar temporarily. According to Maersk, the ongoing delays have created challenges for scheduled operations and service commitments. New cargo restrictions Under the new restriction, Maersk will not permit Zanzibar-bound in-transit cargo under imports to Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, or Mombasa, Kenya. The carrier said the decision aims to protect service standards and maintain operational reliability. Existing shipments Maersk will continue delivering all current in-transit shipments according to their latest updated estimated arrival times. Customers seeking further information should contact their local Maersk customer service representative. The post Maersk restricts in-transit cargo to Zanzibar appeared first on Container News .
