Maersk has announced a reduction in its Destination Terminal Handling charge for cargo moving from worldwide origins to Mexico. The revised charge will apply from 15 August 2026 for shipments from all origins except South Korea. For cargo moving from South Korea to Mexico, the new tariff will take effect on 30 August 2026. The adjustment applies to all container sizes and types. Revised terminal handling charge The Destination Terminal Handling charge will decrease from US$140 to US$120. Origin Destination Current charge New charge Equipment World Mexico US$140 US$120 All container types   This represents a reduction of US$20 per container, or approximately 14.3%. For non-SPOT bookings, the applicable tariff will be determined according to the Price Calculation Date (PCD). For non-FMC shipments, the PCD is based on the scheduled departure date of the first ocean leg at the time of booking confirmation. For FMC shipments, it is based on the last container gate-in date. For SPOT bookings, the applicable rate will be determined according to Maersk’s relevant booking calculation criteria. The charge is collected at destination unless otherwise specified in the customer’s shipping instructions.
