Maersk will introduce a new Depot Full Container Storage – Origin charge for shipments from Sierra Leone to worldwide destinations. The new charge will take effect on 10 October 2026 and remain in place until further notice. Charges reach US$70 per container Maersk will charge US$35 for 20-foot dry containers . The rate for 40-foot dry containers will be US$70 , while 40-foot high-cube dry containers will also face a US$70 charge. The surcharge applies to shipments originating in Sierra Leone and moving to destinations worldwide. Charge effective from October For non-spot bookings, the applicable rate will be determined using Maersk’s Price Calculation Date (PCD). For non-FMC shipments, the PCD refers to the scheduled departure date of the first water leg at the time of booking confirmation. For FMC shipments, the applicable PCD is the last container gate-in date. Other applicable local and contingency charges may also apply.
