The Port of Long Beach handled 779,331 TEUs in June, marking its third-busiest June on record and a 10.6% increase compared with the same month last year. Imports reached 387,025 TEUs, up 11% year on year. Exports declined 1.3% to 86,446 TEUs, while empty container movements increased 14.1% to 305,860 TEUs. The June performance pushed the port’s first-half throughput to 4,829,578 TEUs, an increase of 1.7% compared with the first six months of 2025. California State Transportation Agency (CalSTA) Secretary Toks Omishakin joined Port of Long Beach CEO Dr. Noel Hacegaba to announce the latest cargo results. The port said first-half volumes remain slightly ahead of its previous record year. The Port of Long Beach is continuing its long-term expansion strategy under its 2050 vision, which targets 20 million TEUs annually by 2050. The plan includes US$3.3 billion in capital investments over the next decade to modernise port infrastructure and expand digital systems aimed at improving efficiency and cargo visibility. The port currently handles cargo valued at approximately US$300 billion each year and supports 2.7 million jobs across the United States.
