Maersk will invest US$100 million in a new fulfillment hub in Hopedale, Massachusetts, expanding its contract logistics network in North America and creating approximately 1,000 jobs. The 617,000-square-foot facility is scheduled to begin operations in late August and will support a major e-commerce customer, strengthening Maersk’s fulfillment capabilities across the US Northeast. “Our investment in Hopedale reflects continued customer demand for modern fulfillment capabilities and reinforces Maersk’s commitment to building resilient, scalable supply chains across North America,” said Dave Hune, Head of Maersk Contract Logistics North America. The new hub is expected to process up to 330,000 units per day during peak periods and will feature advanced conveyor and sortation technology to support high-volume fulfillment and faster deliveries across the region. In addition to expanding Maersk’s logistics footprint, the facility is expected to provide a significant economic boost to the local community, with recruitment already underway for a wide range of leadership, operations and support positions. According to Maersk, the Hopedale investment forms part of its strategy to deliver integrated logistics solutions by combining transportation, warehousing, fulfillment and distribution into a seamless supply chain offering.
