Image Credit: Jiangnan Shipyard French container shipping firm CMA CGM has taken delivery of another container ship capable of running on methanol. The 15,000 TEU ship, CMA CGM Berenice , was delivered at a ceremony at China 's Jiangnan Shipyard , the shipbuilder said in a LinkedIn post on Thursday . The vessel is the fifth methanol-fuelled 15,000 TEU container ship it has delivered to CMA CGM as part of a series of vessels under construction for the French carrier. The container segment has led orders for methanol-fuelled newbuilds. With a growing number of methanol-powered ships on order, ports will need to scale up the availability of green methanol quickly to meet the resulting surge in demand. CMA CGM has also invested in several LNG-fuelled ships. In March, the company inducted its largest LNG-fuelled container ship .
