CEVA Logistics has opened a new 508,000-square-foot distribution centre in Derby, expanding its UK contract logistics network to support growing demand from the eCommerce sector. The facility is scheduled to become fully operational in August 2026. It will provide storage, handling and distribution services for global eCommerce customers, helping speed up deliveries across the UK. The new operation is expected to create around 300 jobs, strengthening the regional logistics sector while supporting CEVA’s continued investment in the UK market. The warehouse was designed with sustainability and scalability in mind. It has achieved BREEAM Excellent and EPC A+ certifications and features a rooftop solar installation to reduce energy consumption. The site includes more than 147,000 dynamic pick faces and flexible storage areas. CEVA said the layout allows additional capacity to be added as customer demand grows while maintaining operational efficiency. The company also highlighted the speed of the project. The facility moved from contract award to operational readiness in less than 20 weeks, following close collaboration across its business development, engineering, legal and project management teams. Mike Weaver, Managing Director of Contract Logistics UKIN at CEVA Logistics, said the new operation demonstrates the company’s ability to deliver large-scale logistics solutions quickly. “The Derby facility combines operational scale, sustainability and flexibility to support the evolving requirements of today’s eCommerce market.
