The Oakland Board of Port Commissioners has unanimously elected Stephanie Dominguez Walton as Board President, with her 12-month term commencing July 23, 2026. Fellow commissioners elected outgoing Board President Andreas Cluver as First Vice President and Commissioner Barbara Leslie as Second Vice President. Dominguez Walton was appointed to the Board in 2023 and is the Founder of Her Mano Group, an Oakland-based fundraising and advocacy firm serving mission-driven organisations. A third-generation Californian who has lived in Oakland for over 21 years, she expressed commitment to working in partnership with port staff and labour, community and industry stakeholders on initiatives supporting responsible growth, job creation and positive economic impact for the city and region. Andreas Cluver, elected First Vice President, previously served as Board President from 2020 to 2022 and joined the Port Board in 2016. He currently serves as Secretary-Treasurer of the Building and Construction Trades Council of Alameda County. Barbara Leslie, newly elected Second Vice President, previously served as Board President from 2022 to 2024 and joined the Commission in December 2018. She is President and CEO of the Oakland Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce. In a separate development, Commissioner Alvina Wong was re-appointed for a full term by Mayor Barbara Lee, confirmed by the Oakland City Council at its July 7 meeting.
