Hanseatic Global Terminals (HGT) and Grupo Imetame have signed an agreement with SANY to supply key container-handling equipment for their new terminal in Aracruz, Espírito Santo, Brazil. The order includes ship-to-shore (STS) cranes and rubber-tyred gantry (RTG) cranes. The equipment will support operations at the greenfield container terminal, which is currently under development. HGT and Grupo Imetame established HGT Aracruz in June 2026 as a 50:50 joint venture. The partners said the agreement marks a major milestone in the project’s development. The new terminal will combine operational efficiency, sustainability and scalability. It will also support future cargo growth and rising customer demand. “The signing of this agreement marks an important milestone in our journey to develop a world-class terminal,” said Dheeraj Bhatia, CEO of Hanseatic Global Terminals. “The new equipment will provide the foundation for safe and efficient operations from day one.” Grupo Imetame said selecting SANY reflects its focus on quality, safety and reliable project delivery. “This partnership will provide HGT Aracruz with excellent infrastructure,” said Gilson Pereira, Director of Grupo Imetame. “It will strengthen Espírito Santo’s role as a foreign trade hub and increase Brazil’s port capacity.” SANY Marine Chairman Zhou Guoyuan said the company will supply advanced crane technology to support productive and reliable terminal operations. Located on Brazil’s east coast, the Aracruz terminal will serve both regional import and export cargo and international transshipment services. The partners expect the project to improve regional logistics links, expand access to global trade routes and strengthen Brazil’s position in international supply chains.
