Cavotec has secured a €7 million order to retrofit container vessels with shore power technology. The contract was awarded by a global container shipping company. Cavotec did not disclose the customer’s name. The order covers the retrofit of low- and medium-voltage container ships. The work will be carried out while the vessels remain in service. This will allow the ships to continue operating without disrupting their sailing schedules. The contract was signed during the second quarter of 2026. Cavotec expects to complete deliveries during 2026. With this latest order, the customer has selected Cavotec to equip a total of 24 container ships with shore power systems during 2025 and 2026. “We are pleased that this customer continues to expand its adoption of our shore power retrofit solutions,” said David Pagels, Chief Executive Officer of Cavotec. “The demand for ship electrification continues to grow and this order strengthens our position as a leading provider of shore power solutions for the global shipping industry.” The post Cavotec secures €7 million shore power retrofit order for container ships appeared first on Container News .
