CMA CGM will introduce an Emergency Space Surcharge on shipments from Europe and North Africa to Australia and New Zealand. The new surcharge will take effect on 21 September 2026 . Surcharge applies to cargo relayed via Asia The measure covers shipments from North Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa to Australia and New Zealand. It applies to services moving in relay via Asia. CMA CGM will charge US$250 per TEU for dry cargo and US$400 per TEU for reefer cargo . Special equipment is also included in the scope of the surcharge. All contracts affected According to CMA CGM, the Emergency Space Surcharge applies across all contract validity periods .
