Red Sea Gateway Terminal International (RSGTI) has officially launched the Patenga Container Terminal in Bangladesh, marking a major step in the company’s international expansion. The project is backed by a US$170 million Saudi investment and strengthens RSGTI’s presence in South Asia. The inauguration ceremony brought together senior officials from both Bangladesh and Saudi Arabia, including Bangladesh’s Minister of Finance and Planning, Amir Khasru, Saudi Arabia’s Vice Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, Dr. Rumaih Al-Rumaih, Saudi Ambassador to Bangladesh, Dr. Abdullah Bin Abiah, Assistant Deputy Minister for Investment Development, Eng. Ammar Al-Taf, and RSGTI Chairman Aamer Abdullah AliReza. The new terminal is expected to enhance Bangladesh’s container handling capacity and improve trade connectivity by supporting more efficient cargo operations at the Port of Chattogram. The investment also reflects Saudi Arabia’s growing focus on expanding logistics infrastructure beyond its domestic market, while supporting stronger trade links across Asia. For RSGTI, the launch of the Patenga Container Terminal represents another milestone in its strategy to grow its international terminal portfolio and strengthen its position in the global port sector.
