MSC has launched the Afungi Shuttle, a new maritime service connecting Afungi in northern Mozambique with dedicated feeder links from the ports of Nacala and Maputo. The new service has been developed to support increasing economic activity in the region, particularly the logistics requirements of the LNG project in Afungi. It will facilitate the transportation of construction materials, machinery, industrial equipment, spare parts and other project cargo. The Afungi Shuttle provides access through MSC’s global network, offering connections from major trade routes serving Europe, the Mediterranean, the Americas, Asia, the Middle East and Southern Africa. The service includes dedicated feeder rotations between Nacala and Afungi, as well as Maputo and Afungi, allowing customers to move cargo under a single MSC booking with one commercial point of contact. According to MSC, integrating the coastal feeder service into a single booking is intended to simplify cargo planning and improve coordination for shipments destined for Afungi.
