CMA CGM will introduce Peak Season Surcharges (PSS) on several trades from the Far East. The new charges will cover shipments to Mozambique, Madagascar, Somalia and Seychelles. Far East to Mozambique From 10 August 2026, CMA CGM will apply a PSS of US$250 per TEU on shipments from the Far East to Maputo. The surcharge covers all cargo and will remain effective until further notice. CMA CGM will use the cargo loading date to determine its application. Far East to Madagascar CMA CGM will introduce new PSS levels for shipments from the Far East to Tamatave from 10 August 2026. The carrier will charge US$250 per TEU for cargo originating from Far East locations outside China. For shipments originating in China, the surcharge will reach US$400 per TEU. Both amounts cover all cargo. Far East to Somalia From 10 August 2026, CMA CGM will charge US$250 per TEU for shipments from the Far East to Mogadishu. The surcharge will cover dry and refrigerated cargo. It will remain effective until further notice. Far East to Seychelles CMA CGM will also introduce a PSS of US$750 per TEU for shipments from the Far East to Port Victoria. The surcharge will apply to dry and refrigerated cargo from 10 August 2026 until further notice. For shipments originating in China, CMA CGM said the surcharges remain subject to filing with the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and/or inclusion in the ocean freight.
